Our take on Onyx Weight Loss
Onyx is a small, nurse practitioner-led clinic based in North Carolina that works by telehealth. Its weight-loss page prices everything in the open, and the main plan is a monthly membership: one month of medication, a follow-up visit every month, the labs your provider requires, injection supplies and shipping, all in one price. That bundle is the strongest part of the offer, because labs and visits are where many programs add fees later.
The catch is what the plan cards leave out. Onyx sells a "GLP-1" injection and a "GLP-1/GIP" injection, plus daily sublingual versions of both, but none of its pages names the drug inside them. Nor do they say whether the medication is a brand-name product or a compounded one, and no pharmacy is named in its terms, privacy policy or service pages. So nothing on its pages tells you whether you'd get semaglutide, tirzepatide or something else. Ask your nurse practitioner which drug and which pharmacy before you pay the first month. The GLP-1/GIP membership is priced "starting at," and Onyx doesn't publish what higher doses cost, so your bill could change as your dose climbs. Onyx also sells 10-week flex plans for patients already settled on a dose, a starter flex plan with a planned dose increase, and a microdose plan for people who may not meet the usual weight criteria. Its own page says the sublingual versions may not work as well or as consistently as the injections. Care is personal by design. Visits are one-on-one and virtual, the founding nurse practitioner and a second nurse practitioner are named on its team page, and the first consultation for its Onyx Reset program is free. Late appointment cancellations and no-shows carry a fee, and the terms say only that refund eligibility varies by service.
