Balanced Hormone Health review

The short answer: Balanced Hormone Health sells compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide by the vial, not by the month, so what you pay monthly depends on your dose. Video visits are free; every sale is final.

Our take on Balanced Hormone Health

Balanced Hormone Health is a family-owned telehealth practice based in Iowa, started around hormone therapy and since grown into weight care. Its compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are priced per vial, by the total milligrams inside, and the site says plainly that it does not sell by the month. A starter vial, a larger recommended package and higher-dose refill vials each carry a single printed price, and the visit, syringes, shipping and coaching are included. There is no membership, contract or subscription. Read the compounded semaglutide guide if the drug is new to you.

Vial pricing makes the monthly cost hard to pin down. How long a vial lasts depends on your dose, so the same vial that covers many weeks at a starting dose runs out much faster once you move up. The site prints its own "per month" estimates with an asterisk, and on the tirzepatide page that estimate doesn't match the supply length printed on the starter vial, so neither is turned into a monthly figure here. Ask the care team how long your vial will last at the dose you expect in month three, then divide. The compounded semaglutide cost guide shows what monthly plans elsewhere charge.

The care side is personal. Visits are free video calls with nurse practitioners the team page names, and the practice says you can start at your current dose if you're switching from another program. Labs aren't required for weight loss, though hormone patients pay for them first. It also names its pharmacies, with street addresses, and says it works with both 503A and 503B compounders. Some product pages let you pick a pharmacy package, each with its own add-ins such as B12 or glycine and its own shipping exclusions; one pharmacy, for example, won't ship weight-loss medication to ten states.

Two rules deserve a hard look. Its refund policy says all sales are final and no refunds are issued, so buy the smallest vial first. And its state coverage reads two ways: the FAQ says the contiguous United States with no service to California, while the tirzepatide page says it is available to all states. Brand Zepbound comes through LillyDirect, with a consult fee, a monthly script-refill fee and a required monthly follow-up, and the drug billed by Lilly. The catalog also sells BPC-157, CJC-1295 with ipamorelin, tesamorelin and injectable GHK-Cu. Compare it on the compounded semaglutide lineup, or read about compounded tirzepatide.

What signing up looks like

  1. Fill out the client forms

Complete the new-client forms online. Weight-loss patients don't need labs first; hormone patients do.

  2. Free video visit

A nurse practitioner meets you on a secure video call, sent as a text link, and builds the plan with you.

  3. Buy a vial package

You buy a vial by total milligrams and, where offered, choose a pharmacy package. Each refill vial is bought the same way.

  4. The pharmacy ships it

The compounding pharmacy prepares and ships the order, which takes about 4 to 10 days to reach you.

Who prescribes, and the pharmacy

Nurse practitioners at Balanced Hormone Health, named on its team page, prescribe after a video visit. Its FAQ names Tailormade Compounding in Kentucky and Hallandale Pharmacy in Florida and says it works with both 503A and 503B sterile compounders; product pages offer further pharmacy packages, each with its own add-ins and shipping exclusions.

Where Balanced Hormone Health does well

  • Free video visits with nurse practitioners who are named on the team page.
  • Names its compounding pharmacies with street addresses and says it uses both 503A and 503B pharmacies.
  • No membership, contract or subscription; syringes, shipping and coaching are inside the vial price.
  • You can start at your current dose if you're switching from another program.
  • Interest-free payment plans and HSA or FSA receipts are offered.

What to check first

  • Prices are per vial, so your monthly cost rises with your dose. Ask how long a vial lasts at your expected dose.
  • All sales are final with no refunds. Start with the smallest vial until you know the drug suits you.
  • Its FAQ excludes California while a product page says all states. Confirm your state before you order.
  • Some pharmacy packages don't ship to every state. Check the shipping note on the package you pick.
  • Also sells BPC-157, tesamorelin and similar peptides that pharmacies aren't allowed to compound. Stick to the GLP-1s.

It fits you if

You're comfortable doing your own dose-and-vial math, want a free video visit with a named nurse practitioner, and like paying once per vial with no subscription.

Look elsewhere if

You want one flat monthly price at every dose, a refund if treatment doesn't suit you, or a program that serves California.
