Our take on Shed

Shed lists compounded tirzepatide at $323.92 a month and compounded semaglutide at $215.58 on its one-month plan, and those are the figures to budget by. The "as low as" number in the site banner is the 12-month plan, paid up front. The 6- and 12-month plans do lower the monthly figure, but you commit to the whole term, and refunds on a multi-month plan only cover cycles that haven't shipped. For most people starting out, the month-to-month plan is the honest comparison point. The compounded tirzepatide guide explains how the drug differs from Zepbound.

The detail that changes the math is the two-month minimum. Shed's terms set it for subscriptions, so your first commitment is two charges, not one. Cancel at least 72 hours before a billing date or the next month bills anyway, and charges aren't refunded once they go through. Shed does offer a 120-day weight-loss guarantee, but it's narrow: it's for first-time users of the drug class, and you have to log weights and complete daily app check-ins to qualify. Treat it as a bonus, not a reason to sign up.

Shed itself isn't a medical group. Prescriptions come from an independent, physician-owned provider group, and whether your visit is a written review or a live call depends on your state. Follow-up visits are free, and your provider adjusts the dose without a new visit fee. The pharmacy side is more open than most: Shed's terms list six compounding pharmacies by name and address. You don't pick one. The order goes to whichever pharmacy fits your dose and shipping address, and the shipment insert tells you which one filled it.

There's also a lower-dose line. Microdose semaglutide starts at $161.42 a month and microdose tirzepatide at $215.58, each with the same two-month minimum. Sublingual drops and lozenges cover people who'd rather not inject. Brand Zepbound, Wegovy and Foundayo work differently: you pay a separate Shed membership every 28 days and pay the pharmacy for the drug yourself. Prices are taken from Shed's own site and current as of this update. Real monthly cost folds in required fees and turns four-week billing into calendar months; that's our math.

Other available treatments with a monthly total to confirm: Wegovy (pen), Zepbound (vial), Orforglipron (tablet), Wegovy (tablet).

Compounded semaglutide skips FDA approval: no one at the FDA judges whether it is safe, whether it works, or how well it was made before a pharmacy sends it out.

What signing up looks like

  1. Pick a treatment and answer questions

Choose the drug and plan on the product page, then fill in a short online health history.

  2. A provider reviews your answers

A licensed provider from an independent medical group decides if you qualify. Your state sets whether that's a written review or a live visit.

  3. A partner pharmacy fills it

The order goes to one of the compounding pharmacies listed in Shed's terms, chosen by your dose and shipping address.

  4. It ships within two weeks

Shed says medication ships 5 to 10 business days after approval, usually with ice packs, and you get a tracking number.

Who prescribes, and the pharmacy

Prescriptions come from licensed providers in an independent, physician-owned provider group, not from Shed itself; the visit is a written review or a live call depending on your state. Shed's terms list six compounding pharmacies by name and street address (Boothwyn Pharmacy, Custom Ivy Pharmacy, DCA Pharmacy, Everwell Pharmacy, Promise Pharmacy and Strive Pharmacy) and say orders are assigned automatically by dose and location. Brand drugs go to the maker's own pharmacy channel, which you pay directly.

Where Shed does well

  • Month-to-month prices for injections, drops and lozenges are printed on the product pages, not held back for the intake.
  • Its terms name six compounding pharmacies with street addresses, and your shipment insert says which one filled it.
  • Follow-up visits are free, and dose changes don't add a visit fee.
  • Cancellation rules are written out: a portal link, a 72-hour window and no retention offer you have to sit through.
  • Serves all 50 states plus DC and Puerto Rico, per its help center, with a few drugs limited by state.

What to check first

  • Every subscription has a two-month minimum. Budget for two charges before you start.
  • Charges aren't refunded once billed. Cancel at least 72 hours before your billing date.
  • The banner price is the 12-month plan paid up front. Compare on the one-month price instead.
  • Brand-drug pages quote two different membership fees. Confirm the fee at checkout before you join.
  • You can't choose the compounding pharmacy. Check the shipment insert and keep it with your records.
